Flush Kit
 

I just bought a 2009 Checkmate 270 Convincor with a 496 HO. Will the Merc flush kit 898235A02 work on this motor? I've seen adds that say it will if it's a non EC motor. Don't know what that means. Thanks!

I'm assuming EC means enclosed cooling. That means it has heat exchangers with antifreeze running through the engine.

I have a flush kit on mine with closed cooling so all I’m flushing is power steering cooler, heat exchanger, and exhaust risers. I do run boat on muffs first to flush outdrive too but then I hook to the flush kit. If it’s causing any problems, I’m not aware

Just found out it means emission controlled.
