Bullet cams
 

Just thought I’d pass along I had a good conversation with Kirk today at bullet cams. Very nice guy and to the point but I kept it short as I’m sure they get so many Guys just calling to bend their brain and go elsewhere or buy off the shelf. Shelf be fine just don’t waste someone’s valuable time.

He likes to make power for sure. I haven’t used their lobes in years however the last grinds that came from them made very noticeable difference in power. Ultradyne lobes.

It's really surprising that asymmetrical lobes never became more commonplace with the marine crowd. I really don't think the choices being promoted were right for the average performance boater; think Marine Kinetics here - big lift, short duration, asymmetrical lobes that would out accelerate any comparable Crane cam AND make more on the top end - for a season or 2. Powerful, noisy and didn't last. Made Bob Madera famous around here. It was also his demise. If you want a Harold Brookshire type lobe for marine, you really have to hunt as most of these lobes are just too intense for marine when you get into the bigger lifts IMO. Howards has some mellowed out versions and I have never heard anything bad about Lunati's Voodoo cams. One thing for sure, is I really miss the old Ultradyne cam I had - nothing like it, but I stuck a piston in that motor and it turned me into Mr. Reliability ever since. I've been boring, but Iv'e been boating.

I've used Harold B cams for many years in my marine engines years ago and those damn things did make power! I'm running Bullet cams in my 502s and this coming season will be 21 years on those cams, Like Getrdunn said they have a great staff, I run Bullet in my little 302 Ford as well. +1 for Bullet.

Disclaimer! I did buy Crane Cams for my latest project engines, but they are a different platform, solid roller stuff

I did visit their shop, can't argue ICDEDPPL's point, but also can't argue with their results either.

Round table talk....You guys know done company bought Comp Cams and Edelbrock not long ago. Edelbrock just closed their Torrance , CA headquarters. Yeh the one they opened 1st, in the 30’s. I just found this out today , first stumbling across this article:

FWIW, the Lunati and Howard’s cams are done on a Landis Machine.

Used Bullet for years on our naturally aspirated drag race motors & again when we made the jump to blown alcohol. Great people to deal with, top notch operation. Always made more power than expected.

Comp has too much technology into their lobes not to go with them and best pricing. I believe all of their lobes are spintron tested and will not grind a lobe that has not been tested as stable. I loved my Ultradyne solid cams in my 454's and made good power.

Bullet made a reverse rotation cam for a big inch big blower engine with big chief heads for us that is pretty extreme 2 engines one reverse for a pair of arnson drives they also ground the cam in our 25 active thunder with an 540 it absolutely Rocks

I ran across that some time ago. It is funny but I’ve been to some places over the years “Like hills have eyes” or “wrong turn” and yet got great service and work performed was A1.

Those guys down there have been known for such.
