No problem Bro.
|
Thanks for all the info. So would I be correct in saying that when I sucked some debris into the drive it was the seawater pump that failed? Is there any advantage to running a crossover? The repair kit the the pump can be done with the boat in the water? or pull it out first?
Thanks again. |
David,
just a word from experience; if you toasted your impeller, check all of your down stream hose that goes to the coolers and such. These can become filled with all of the pieces and cause some serious problems afterwards. Later, Dave |
YES, with outlet hose off of sea pump,
remove "seawater" inlet hose from engine and backflush, usually, you will find a few vanes of the failed impeller will wash back out. LASTLY don't mix up the hoses when you install them back on the impeller housing. housing are labeled for outlet per engine rotation, as far as i know, most stern drive engines rotate CCW or L/H, as viewed from the rear. |
Hey guys...one question....does a "closed colling system" like on the new 496 Ho and Mag have a sea strainer???
