Drain water fuel separator

I am looking for a "low point" port/valve to drain my fuel water separator. I could not find one...do I just unscrew the filter and empty/inspect (as regular maintenance)?
Thanks, Tom

Yes, I swap out every 2 years. Depending on what area your in and if there is more problems with water, might need to do it every year

Marine Gas fuel filters used on enclosed motors can not have a drain in them.

Since I typically winterize by removing the F/W separator, dumping, and filling 1/2 way up with two-stroke motor oil to "fog" the engine...
...I typically remove and replace the F/W separator in the spring with a new one. And I always keep a spare for each motor on board at all times.

Replacing once a year/season is a good measure.

You can remove and dump it anytime you want to.
When you do, be sure to check the O-ring rubber is in fine shape to be re-installed.
Check for any rust/corrosion/rattle in the F/W separator.
And lube the O-ring up with oil just like an oil filter when you re-install it.

Is this "in addition to" spray fogging or "in lieu of" normal spray/fog?
What a great site for information!!!

I use my fresh 40:1 to fill separator cause I always have it. I do not soray fogger down throttle body. When some pil smoke comes out tailpipes, shut her off. FI does this faster than carburetor since fuel injection is full flow from separator to injectors back to separator. Carburetors have to use fuel in bowls and lines for mix to make it up thru lines and then thru carburetor.

Some 2 stroke oil has fuel stabikizer mixed in. This helps keep fuel stabilzer in everything but your gas tank. Don’t forget to treat that with stabilizer too.
