540 mpi oiling system

My motor is on its way through the machine shop process and Ive turned to working out the kinks in the factory oil system. From my reading the factory system is suspect at best with a stock motor, Im adding cubic inches and HP to the system so I think that Im going to use a high volume pump in a stock pan , a bolt on filter adaptor that removes the factory bypass valves. Most likely Ill use the Hamburger,s part number 497-3325 with -12an outlets , a Hamburgers remote filter base with -12an ports and threaded for a PH8A , Mr Cool CPH700 heat exchanger . The heat exchanger is rated to 700 hp, has 3/4" oil ports and a built in 160 deg. thermostat . Ill use long sweep 90 deg. fittings and 3/4" hose . My question is have I forgot or missed anything ?

Gen v/vi have the bypass valves in the block. The Mark IV has one in the screw on filter adapter.

How many quarts of oil in the pan?

Going with all the up dates on the oiling system you might want to install a bigger oil pan. If you pump the pan dry it's bad news.

I haven't seen anyone dealing with a volume issue, I've deburred the lifter valley to help with oil drain back , the bearing clearances should be good for oil management. My plan is to only spin the motor to 5000-5200 rpm and I believe the factory windage tray to be adequate. I guess I'm more worried about heat management than oil control ie sloshing oil from hard cornering. Are the factory pans notoriously bad?

I think the pan will be okay. I'm using the same. Windage can be an issue, but under 5500 it's probably not that big an issue. The M77HV pump increases volume by about 20% so it really shouldn't empty the pan. With the cooler, filter, and all of the lines you'll probably end up around 9.5-10 quarts in the system anyway so more than enough.
