HP 500 cooling hose update?
 

On my recently acquired HP 500 carb engine, the oil cooler to sea water pump cooling hose has been modified (added a 90* bend) to make clearance for the engine motor mount.

I felt a soft spot/wear spot on the hose and decided to replace it. I ordered part # 32-849604 and there is no way that hose can work with my set up. The hose would contact the motor mount and not fit onto the sea water pump at all.

The modified hose that's installed presently is the 32-848178 hose. There's an additional 90* bend joined by a connector and hose clamps to go behind the motor mount and angle back to the sea water pump.

While searching through the classifieds I saw this picture of the HP 500 EFI

It appears as though it has the additional bend to clearance the motor mount. When I contacted the seller about the hose, he was kind enough to give me the numbers off of it. 06 22 01 BL RW5, but those come up with nothing as a part number.

When I researched the 500 EFI cooling hose, they show it having a cooler installed also. And the "notes" states the hose is cut for the cooler. In that picture, I see no cooler.. Nor can I find a hose that is NOT cut for the cooler in any of the parts diagrams.

Does anybody know if there is an updated cooling hose for the HP 500 engine that would route behind the motor mount and then 90 back towards the sea water pump?

Or does anybody know the part number for that cooling hose in that pic? 1 1/4" hose going from se water pump to engine oil cooler)

I would have called BAM, but they don't list a phone number. Just an E mail address.

What is your engine serial number and the pic serial number ?

The engine in the pic is an EFI but it appears a main question would be is the engine shown running a Gen 2 cool fuel tube type system or did someone change a few things around as far as fuel and water hose routing...Item # 8,https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/...31337/4889/120 ..... = the tube shown between 19 & 18, https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/...31337/4889/150
