I just remembered I made a video about the housing when mine failed internally causing temp fluctuations. and yes, it was the HOUSING, not the thermostat that failed. Took me a while to track that down.

This is a brand new housing so we all know. I’m goin go change thermostat out to be sure. But looking at it. With the correct cup for notched manifold in housing doesn’t seem like it protrudes below gasket far enough to set in intake notch. Like it would be loose and not seated in intake and against top of hoising

Based on the pic there is enouh thread sealant on the sender to maybe cause an issue, I doubt though. But, If it was reaching 160°F+ (let alone 190°F) you wouldn't be able to hold your hand to it. What does the engine builder think?

Brand new aftermarket tstat housing that has had manufacturing issues in the past. Hole locations:sealing/eyc. So don’t assume new equals good.

Sabertooth, your vid much better than my below. :thumbs

Here is my year 2005 attempt at showing how the water (cool and hot) moves about in this tstat housing. You guys remember Mopower (Cal) ? These are his pink tstat housings.
The two red and two blue arrows on top of others, are the top chamber. :wink
