My starboard engine was doing that and I found out the previous owner rigged a splice for the positive wire that would come loose and then settle into place when I got on plane. what did Detroit do to deserve a sh!tbag like that. He must be the guy who scotch locked a ground on my 502 mpi fuel pump harness.

Update

Unhooked the shift interrupt switch and jumpered the harness side with a wire. Boat runs like a top but I’d obviously difficult to shift with the interrupter disabled. Ordering a switch in the morning

So you have an alpha drive ? I bet most figured you have a bravo. Or didn’t think about it
