Engine hatch actuator (acculift)

I am in need of a replacement actuator motor for my engine hatch. It is original acculift actuator motor model MQ347, serial PV24188Q, dated 1995. The hatch motor is weak and no longer has the power to lift the hatch. It has dc power. Just worn out. I’ve tried to find a replacement online with no luck. I’ve also tried to call Danny (supposedly) of acculift in Michigan, with the number I’ve found through this site. And was unsuccessful. No answer or call backs. Anyone that can help with any direction to go or a compatible replacement motor would be great. Thanks.

Do you have the motor in-hand? Take it apart. It may just need a good cleaning and new brushes...

Maybe this site will sell just a motor..

I’ve tried many times over the years to get ahold of acculift and QM with zero luck. Acculift are serviceable, but IMO, they aren’t that great and I’d look for a newer aftermarket replacement.

Do you have the hatch on relays or just off the switch at the dash? If no relays I would suggest putting them in. They move 3 times faster and have the power. My Scarab deteriorated also and relays fixed the issue.

Have you checked the voltage at lift when running... to rule out voltage drop?

I can take the motor off. I checked voltage with it lifting and had a heavy draw, down to 8.5v. I don’t believe it to be on a relay. But that may help. Anyone have a wiring diagram of a example for one with a relay. I haven’t been able to find a aftermarket replacement motor without having to buy the entire lift assembly for $500.

You can't do it with 1 relay. I use a reversing motor solenoid/relay.

I did this because of same slow issue and I made a wiring diagram for installation. just send email to [email protected]

It appears they got bought out. When I took my lift in they only had the shop in Melvindale. They rebuilt it in a couple of days and it's worked perfect since. I don't have a relay on mine, it runs straight off the switch. But the switch is rated at 20A. If you're seeing only 8.5V you have more than a lift problem.

If this is correct then you need to correct the feed problem first. It should not be dropping that low. I would go through all of the wiring and grounds and make sure they are clean and tight. Have you tried it with the engine(s) running ?
