4" tip internal flaps

Which would you prefer? The newer Hardin Marine rubber or the old school Gil stainless with rubber edging??

if you have a performance cam , it will destroy the older style flaps

It's got a crane 731.
So you're saying the rubber flat will outlast the stainless?

Use the Gils (same as Corsa's I put on a boat). They clatter a lot at idle from the counterweight, but the flapper will never need to be replaced.
