I never noticed any cooler intake temps from 10-71 to Whipple.
Maybe without an intercooler?

Were your post intercooler temps relatively close to your water temp?

No... Once we`re in the summer months and lake michigan is warmer (70ish) it stays around 119* at WOT.
Without intercooler used to run 150*
In LOTO with bathwater maybe an extra 5-8*
My buddy with a MOAC and an 8.3l Whoople runs nice and cool mostly just under 100*
Mr. Waggs and his custom huge intercooler can run in the 90*`s

MAT is intake temp...

Dan, did you use the same intercooler for both blowers?

Interesting. Assuming same intercooler I think that means you weren’t turning the 10-71s very hard. They seem to hit a wall around 1100hp, at which point I’m assuming the heat goes up faster than the power. The whipple can keep going up into the 1400hp range.

But at 950-1000hp the 10-71 is happy and the whipple isn’t much of a benefit.

If it were me I’d knock the compression down below 8.0/1 (maybe get the actual 1075sci pistons), and let the blower work. Assuming you get the fuel distribution figured out of course.

The standard Whipple intercooler that I bought with the Whooples looks identical to the Teague "TBS" intercooler . same size same opening . The teagues were brand new , the whipples were used .

I was tuning the 10-71 4% over so not working very hard. (8-9psi)
The Whoople 4% over was 12lbs, 1:1= 9-10 lbs
I`ll have to slow it down even more to get to 7-8psi.
It`s a lot of blower .A smaller one would be better . 4.5L comes to mind

3psi and same MAT sounds like a win to me, 100hp there.

The acceleration is very noticeable, the Roots took their time to get to 90mph.(the last 5mph you gotta stay in it for a while, get the trim amd rpm just right )
The Whoople gets there fast, now if i advance the throttles it puts you back in the seat, did not do that with the ROOTS.
Keep in mind 9.5-10psi with Whoople.
8-8.5psi with Roots but that`s not going to make that much of a difference.
