I've got a pump from a 98 Cool Fuel setup. It's used but was working well when pulled (I built new engines - carbureted). 400 hours per the ECM, but some of that could have been key-on-only time. You can have it for $50 plus the ride (I'm in VA). I'll throw in the regulator too (green stripe).
I also have a great set of better-than-OEM injectors that have maybe 20 hours on them if you're interested. |
Hey man, get your 502 figured out?
|
I was hoping to get a pump out to him, but both of my old MPI pumps are missing so that idea is shot.
|
Be cool if we had figured out who made the pump. Walbro has a few thst look similar to it….so maybe…they have one somewhere…lol
edit in: looks like walbro and carter have a few that look kinda similar by pics |

This is the correct one from Basic Power:
https://bpi.ebasicpower.com/shop/all...ssure-861156a1 I would trust it from them. |
Okay, found 2 sites mentioning Airtex E11004. as replacement for the merc pump 861156A1. At first glance looks like those are unavailable.
|
Ive got the pump and regulator ordered. I ordered the pump Tom suggested. I will report back once I get them installed. It will probably be a bit as I will be out of town next week. Thanks again for all the help everyone!

Come with orings and heat transfer paste ? If not, you’ll want them.
|
I bought the o-rings as well. Will I need heat transfer paste just replacing the pump?
|
Yeh, a former member that was a decent tech was adamant about using it. Ss a plug for what kind, Arctic silver is great stuff. I used it all the time on gm ignition modules.
Where are those radio shacks that used to be down the street when you need them ? Lol. |

Any updates?

TikTok guy knows what wrong - there ain’t no gas in it. 😂.
btw not related at this point but I finally broke down and bought a battery load tester from Napa a few years ago. So damm handy. With some aftermarket ignitions I found that even if the engine would crank over fine the battery wasn’t up enough to trigger spark. Again not really related but…. |
I wanted to give everyone an update.
I finally got to work on it some more this weekend. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and that seems to have solved the fuel issue. The fuel pressure looks perfect now. Of course the starter went out so I cant actually confirm it will start. Im betting it will once I get the new starter in. |
Thanks for updating us. Have fun with the starter, hope that goes smoothly.
