After reading all your suggestions on getting a better made pan I found these made by Hamberger's Model # 1488. I called the company and even though Jegs, Summit etc advertises them as a marine oil pan Hamberger's says no. Not for marine use. Their reasoning is not windage its no shock absorbers. The constant banging on wakes he said breaks apart the baffles. Back to zero again!

I received the pans and I just sent them back. They were not 8qt pans only 7qt and they had a shorter sump. The ones that came off of my engines have a longer sump,. Also there were 2 fittings on the sides. They tapped them from inside the pan to the outside and you cannot reverse the plug because it was tappered out .Who would want a plug inside the engine...DUH! So I ordered the Hambergers ...and now I just read they don't recommend them for marine...They are definately built better than my original pans and a lot better than that crap I just sent back. I refuse to spend 700 at hardin marine...for their ex ess pans. My old pan is on the left. Always a problem.. B.O.A.T Break out another Thousand
