Reliability issues? counter leg on twin alpha gen1 - & worth it?
Spoke to a guy who runs a big boat salvage business last week, he mentioned the gen 1 counters were not that reliable and not really necessary in this application, thoughts? this is a 165 v6 3.8L twin in a 28ft searay with bridge just a fishing cruiser-
would the counter make much of a difference ito fuel consumption and handling around the dock and thoughts on reliability issues? Thanks |
I doubt it would be noticeable. counter rotation can help torque lean especially with higher pitched props as well as the back end wanting to go a bit sideways when you get it light/airborn. you can also get a bit of stern lift depending on how you spin the props. Realy really dont have the power to need it.
As for dependabiity, the easiest way to get a counter rotating alpha is sei, who warranties it for 3 years.... |
