Trim indicator cables 91 336SR1

Gentlemen I believe its time to replace the starboard trim indicator cable and I have 2 questions: 1) Can anyone give me this part #, or alternatively point me in the right direction? Formula perhaps? 2) since one is going bad would you just replace the other as the same time?

1992 336 SR1 XR Outdrives and Teague 516s under the hood.

Thanks for any help, I unfortunately live in a small town with no shop experienced in these boats.

The cables are a standard item, based on length, which is usually stamped into the cable jacket within a few inches of the end.

Replacing both at the same time makes sense since you'll have to gain access to the back of the indicator display panel to change the cable(s). May as well do it once, given it's a 30 year old boat.

I did look on the end of the cable, no luck. however you are saying "cable jacket' which i think was covered up by something. Shuda taken a pic.

It's not always on both ends. You might have to go under the dash to see the markings.

Thanks for the help Gents I was finally able to find the brand and length. It is Volvo Penta Xact 24 ft. I have looked all over the internet without luck sourcing this thing. Anyone have any ideas? Oh BTW, that was port side cable, are starboard cables typically same length? Im betting yes.

The cables are “33c” control cables. Lookup teleflex xtreme 3300 series cable. The Volvo cable was probably on the shelf somewhere when one was needed previously. As said earlier they are by length. Port is typically 2’ longer than starboard

I'm installing these in my AT right now. I've had them in my Panther over 10yrs no issues.
