Sniper installation

Hello.i have an 7.4mpi at the moment in my donzi 21, and im building a ~600hp 454 stroker by the side of it.

The 600hp engine is getting a sniper efi.

But im thinking of installing the sniper on the mpi engine first, just to get all the plumbing, sensors, electrical etc fixed and tested, so when the new engine is finished it will just pop right in.
got an imco exhaust so 02 bung will be easy, hell i might gain a few mph also.

From my understanding ill need a dual plane intake and a sniper kit, fuel pump etc.

However, what intake should I go for, i have closed cooling and no salt-water, so I'm going for an aluminum/car intake. And can anyone see if this is a round or oval port? Engine is in the boat and would love to start ordering parts.

From my menory, and reading, It should be the vortec oval port heads.

Ive been digging around the internet, and some people say that the sniper Efi works best with a single plane intake, and low rpm loss isnt as bad as a carbed app.

So should i go for a weiland track warrior / holley strip dominator rather than a Street warrior dual plane?

or, should i break the bank on one of these and "reuse" on the new engine?

What heads are you planning to use on your 600 hp build? That really should dictate the intake you buy.

A used Victor Jr should be easy to find in the car world.

I have not decided that yet, but im thinking going with oval port heads (that should work for 600hp na) if I go this route, so I can "reuse" the intake i buy now.

Single Or dual? I feel torn about it.. The boat is light and easy to get on plane, so I don't need the torque badly. I cruise between 3-4000 rpm mostly.

The dual plane is all about signal for a carburetor. A throttle body injector doesn’t care about signal. You’ll have a more even distribution of fuel with a single plane.

Interested. Use holley snipers on cars always wanted to on a boat
