496 cool fuel bypass
Hi , i have a question i have a fastech 312 with 496/s cool fuel mounted to bottom of engine, if i had to ever replace them it would be a disaster it appears, would possibly have to pull a motor. dont wanna deal with that is there a way i can by pass that by just installing electric fuel pumps that i can mount near the halon system?

You can run aftermarket pumps, but you'll also need to add a fuel cooler. The plumbing can get more involved than it's worth especially in a tight compartment with twins.
|
Actually, you could plumb an aftermarket pump and send the return back the tank (the tank acts as the cooler vs the cold water tube).

any pics or any suggestions on what to get? , seems confusing but man if one of those pumps craps out i dont know how ill get at it. bob

I'm running an Aeromotive marine A1000 pump with their A1000 regulator.

gen 2 just a PITA to get to

It will probably never fail as long as you winterize it properly. Don't just rely on the little air pump thingy and stop worrying about a problem that doesn't exist. ;)

496 not the greatest motors my 02! Good luck

Why?
I agree with others that you are chasing a problem that doesn't currently exist. Even if you "bypass" the cool fuels, you still have to get to them to pull the fuel lines, no?
