refueling issues
Does anyone else have issues with the fuel filler not taking a full nozzle of fuel? All of my tanks don't seem to fill fast -- i've checked the tank vents and they are clear and can blow through them. The 2 inch fuel filler hoses are not kinked and are aimed directly to the top of the tanks. It seems as soon as i pull the trigger it starts backing up and shuts off the nozzle or worse it spits it out... Makes refueling even more painful than paying for itCool
The 2 saddle tanks only have 10inch hoses and they are problematic.... Any thoughts? |
I have the same issue on my boat saddle tanks. I just have to go slow. I discovered if I hold the nozzle "up" meaning don't let it relax on the hole, push it opposite direction I can fill a lot faster.

Good article + vid on how the pump nozzle works to give you an idea on how to fix or get around this...possibly:

Try turning the nozzle around backwards, 180 degrees. I have to do this on some vehicles and it makes things a lot better/faster,.

Always have to do that on mine. |
I had that problem. One belly tank with port and starboard fills. If I loosened the other cap, no burps, so I figured maybe the fuel vent hose was sketchy. Replaced it and the vent itself. Problem solved. I think the vent hose may have failed partially and would act up occasionally, thus the burps.

Even with them I hate the dipshiits that hang the nozzle back up with the lever depressed. Must of been an old one at a diesel pump one time on me, as soon as swiped my card and hit the diesel button, fuel sprayed everywhere. Glad it wasn't pointed at truck yet. |
