525efi in gear switch.
 

Hi all.

525efi and bam transmissions. What's the benefit of having the engine linked to the gear limit switch on the transmission? Currently on the scan tool it shows 'in gear' even in neutral so I'm guessing on the transom harness a connection is linked out. Nothing plugged into the terminals on the transmission. I do have the neutral safety switch active on the gear levers at the dash and they're tested and working.

If it's advised they're connected does anyone have a shot of the wiring diagram where the connection is on the engine with wire colours? I've ordered the workshop manual and the diagnostic manual but US to UK I'm not sure when they will arrive. Thanks for any help 👍
