Dpx A 385hp Fuel pumps

Have a 22 classic with 385 dpx a set up. At full throttle runs to 5000rpm then fall off to 4500 then will start to climb up again. Suspect fuel pumps. Anyone have a aftermarket source for these pumps or method to run the new style pumps that are together on the filter separater?

You are still running/have the original SX Performance pumps? They are "aftermarket" and should be available.

Another thing to check, would be, the filter baskets on the injectors were/are pretty prone to clogging with junk and/or aluminum oxide grit that forms within the fuel system. I would pull and clean mine every other season, after figuring out what the issue was.

Seasons done and winterized. Has the original factory pumps. Low pressure on the front and high pressure on the rear. Pulled the banjo bolt on the hp pump to look at the screen and it was clean no debris, fuel water separater clean no debris. Any part numbers of aftermarket replacement pumps? Is there a better way to supply fuel then the stock system and how?

Fyi: Pretty sure Edelbrock bought SX years ago. So check there. Yeh, Edelbrock recently got bought by an investment group, so who knows what they have now, unless you check. :)

Btw: did you see fuel psi drop during drop in rpms ?

Hard for me to check pressures at speed. Have to come up with a line with guage to run to Schrader valves next season. The low pressure pump sounds a little loud. Both pumps are original with 470 hrs figure would change for next season.

Use regular fuel psi tester. Go for s ride….,Aim phone at gauge. Hit record video. Put boat in gear. Mash the throttles . :thumbs

Thanks good route to go.

Even with separator and fuel pump screens showing clean, it is still likely worth checking the fuel injector baskets themselves. The lines and rails are suspect spots for the AO formation.
