Hello
New to the boards here. I am looking at a few 25' Checkmate Convincor. One is an older one in very nice shape. It's an '83 but has a TRS drive. How does the TRS stack up to a Bravo1?

Second boat I am looking at is an '90 GTX and is my first choice. I Like everything about it but the bottom paint the current owner has put on it. With me it will live on a trailer and I would like to remove it. Since all my boats have been trailer queens I don't have any experience with bottom paint. How hard is it to remove and how would you go about it?

Thanks for your time. I have been lurking around here for some time and have gained a ton of info from here..thanks.

My personnal opinion, go with the Bravo. The TRS boat will never be as fast. Bottom paint can be removed much more cheaply than switching from the TRS to a Bravo.

If there is a primer underneath, good luck.

Bottom paint figure the removal into the price of the boat and pay a shop to do it. The reason I say this is because it is a lot of work and VERY messy. I stated to dand mine off (the old black stuff) and got it smothed out and ended up repainting it with some of the new teflon stuff. Mabey some day it will all come off. Charlie
