Mercury ITS and Gimbal Ring replacement
 

Looking for procedures for replacing gimbal ring on ITS. I am assuming motor has to come out, but do you have to remove entire assembly to get to top of pinion nut?? Any help appreciated.

You have to split the box from the transom assembly to access the upper swivel pin.

Unlimited thanks! Do you have to remove the transom assembly to be able to split case or can you get to it while assembly is still on boat??

If the engine is setup as a driveline installation you can reach in and get to the hardware, not easy but possible. If the engine is bolted to the transom plate it has to come out
