700sci prelube after engine rebuild

Hey guys,

would appreciate if anyone could assist me explaining to me the process of prelubing the engine after rebuild

i have built my preluber in house and would like to know where should I connect the hoses on the engine to run the oil through. If anyone has pictures would be of great help

thank you

I used a home made pre luber I built from a hand pump, and pumped a couple quarts of oil into the return oil port towards the front of the engine. I could feel the pressure increase after the first quart.

That port is outside the oil pan mounting rail. Should have a threaded plug in it. Accessible even on fully assembled motor.

I think there 1/4 npt

That picture I posted is on a 496HO engine, and that one uses a 1/2" NPT fitting. I'm not sure what the 700 has, I know some of the earlier gen blocks had smaller NPT fittings.

Just be sure to use the more forward of the 2 fittings, use the one that doesn't have a plug in it in my picture.
