Mercury Racing Blue Anodized Pulleys

Who can strip my current blue pulleys and anodize them back in Mercury Racing Blue?

Jim,

I don't know where you call home, but...

Electro-Polish is a world class metal finishing facility in Dayton, OH. I don't know if they can do "Mercury" blue, but they DO have blue. You're probably going to have a difficult time sourcing an exact color match. I'd suggest going with hard anodize anyway, which is typically only available in clear or black.

Thanks. Brad.

I'm in far West KY, but I will check them out. Thanks!

Jim,

Just an FYI...

I'd call them and talk about masking the ID bore for both stripping and re-anodizing. There is some considerable material loss in the stripping process, and you probably want to retain the fit to the shaft.

Thanks. Brad.

Hey JD, Ive powder coated them with two stage silver under coat and a bright blue top turns out well.

F2,

I wondered about powder coating, given my recent positive experience with it on some cleat bezels. I just wonder about the wear factor. Have you run these pulleys? If so, how did they wear?

Thanks. Brad.

Silly question.

Are your pullies aluminum or steel?

If steel, I would guess powder is the way to go. I don't think you can anodize steel.

Xlint,

You are correct. Steel cannot be anodized. Didn’t even think to ask that question.

Thanks. Brad.
