496 HO valve springs
Getting a couple of 496 HOs ready to install, while on the stands I'm a thinking of replacing the valve springs, any recommendations on springs or just leave them alone? Thanks

PAC seem to be the best. They live where others have failed.

Why replace them?? They should last 2000 hrs with the small cam in the 496

How many hours on the springs? If you have the capability, remove a couple and test pressure. Shim them up to .080-.060" before coilbind if wanting to increase spring pressure.

02 year 496HOs with 258 hours

Leave em alone. I would be more concerned with 2002 injectors if they have never been touched.

I'd leave them alone with such low hours. They do have a weak spring pressure but they work fine with a stock cam. Plus they have all that funny rotator stuff from the factory.
I agree with others on getting the injectors cleaned. And perhaps replace the IAC valves so you don't smoke a PCM555! |
