Did I get hosed on these props ?

(Posted this in the prop talk section but seems to be minimal traffic in there.)

Not sure what to do here.
The old saying goes: "If its too good to be true, it probably is."

Found this set of pretty looking Volvo Penta F7's on ebay for $900 and they just arrived today.
There are obvious hammer marks in one blade, appears to be old and prior to polishing.
The biggest issue I see is.. the hubs dont appear to be pressed on completely. The props dont rub on anything but the forward prop is noticably further back from the drive than the F6's I removed. Obviously none of this stuff was pictured or mentioned in the Ebay ad.

Are the hubs coming out of or spinning in the props ?
Both appear to be not fully seated.

Need some OSO wisdom here.

Thanks in advance.

If the damage wasn't disclosed, I would make the seller take those back.

Already started the return process, but "seller doesnt accept returns"... so ebay may need to step in.

Will see how this unfolds.

I should know better by now not to trust a deal that seems too good to be true. These are $1800 props if they were new.

If I cant get my money back, I wonder what it would cost to just have them fixed?
I figure probably $350 in hubs, + install + blade repair/reshape ?

Brett at Bblades wont work on VP props. Already swapped emails with him... so not sure what options I have if the seller doesnt cooperate.

They don't look like they are junk, so I would think a reputable prop shop could get them sorted and you may still be ahead of the game compared to new.

There is a shop in Mass that does work on DP's and I can vouch for their work, if you want the contact info, let me know.

Stop the what if’s and just contact the peeps. :wink

I agreed to keep the props if the seller split the cost of a pair of new hubs. Seller agreed to refund $150 so now im only into these for $750... which seems reasonable to me.
I will send these out to be fixed and will still be ahead.
