The block off plate is really nothing more than a $3 flat piece of metal.

But it's for a boat,, so it's $300.. :D

I pulled my engine in the winter and im sure you are aware, but I had to get different tails when I removed my Y pipe. Im guessing most people would have the same issue with the stock tails running down to it and also out the back.

The boat didn't already have thru hull exhaust? I removed silent choice and the Y pipe, then went straight from the risers to the tips with rubber hose.

It does have thru hull exhaust, but it was split by the tails. When I removed the Y pipe I had to get tails that didnt have the diverter down to the Y pipe. I found some used for 700 locally, but if you have to buy new they can be 1600. I just wanted to make sure the OP didnt have a potential 1600 extra expense for removing that because I was short sighted and originally thought, $50 for a block off plate and you can take it out and call it a day until i looked at this further myself.

^^ Ah got it. I did what I described with a black motor with stock exhaust. Not sure what motor the OP has.

This is my plan. I make weld and make a waterjacketed pipe to prevent reversion from my cam durations. Or, setup a side exit with hose for the exhaust and a separate hose for the water. Just waiting on my pushrods from Manton to get here.

Right now there is no motor. Stock motor is out, the exhaust exits through the outdrive. That's all changing when the new motor goes in.
