Another issue! Raw water pump not lining up
 

Anyone ever have a problem with raw water pump (pulley) not lining up with crank pulley. New dart big m blk. It’s not only out over a 1/16 th it appears the lower portion also needs to be shimmed out slightly further. Being such a short belt I don’t believe there’s much room for error.

I can shim the crank pulley to solve one problem but would have to shim the lower portion of the pump bracket to get close to spot on.

Also anyone happen to have part number for that belt? My internet acting up badly. Was a mark 4 TRS originally

Sounds like the mounting bosses on the block are machined a little thick. No real answer outside of shimming. A picture might help.

Is this a V-belt setup? If so is the flange pressed on the right distance?

If its this stye bracket, you can loosen the screw clamping the pump snout and move it around to align up the pulley...if its the stamped style with no adjustment, then either your pulley position has changed on the pump shaft and needs to be shifted....or bracket is bent.....or you need some spacers/shims

Welcome to the world of High Performance Aftermarket junk. It's all to spec until it isn't. Just shim or trim as needed. I'd trim the pump bracket to move it back before I'd shim out the crank pulley. (Unless you make a shim that matches the base of the pulley.) You may get lucky with the bracket by trimming part of it and leaving the other point alone to get it trued up

If it's the style Wally posted Trash them and use the other style. I smoked 2 sets of bearings in BRAND NEW Hardin SS pumps two years ago because when you tighten them down if you get the snout even a couple thousandths out of round you're screwed.

Honestly man, if it's a V-belt and only out a 16th or less I'd run it and lose sleep over something else....

That did it. Tks. Never ran into the problem before and didn’t realized that bolt was an adjustment/set bolt. The other alignment was my bad eyes. After checking further with a straight edge and feeler gauge they were perfectly parallel. All good. Tks again
