500EFI Oil Filter Hose
Does anyone know what the part number is for the 500efi oil filter hose with the fitting that is circled or better yet, know where I can get a new one? The picture is of what appears to be the OEM hose on my port motor. Looks like someone had an aftermarket hose made for my starboard motor (see second picture) and it's leaking. I would like to replace it with a stock hose.
I ordered both hoses that appear in the 500efi parts diagram and neither of the fittings looks right. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...68bbfa2c54.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...13de49f1b9.jpg |
These are the hoses listed in the 500efi parts diagram.

They don’t appear to have unique ends, why not go to a hydraulic shop and see if it can be matched and made. Probably cheaper and more likely to have what you need.

IMO, If you looked them up by serial number for your engines and the filter housing and whatnot are original, I'd say what you ordered will work.
As long as the connection type is correct and they are the correct length. (The one appears to be flare and NPT on the other end, the other both flare) Probably just some variation in the fittings due to maybe different manufacturers or just design differences over time. Obviously, yeah you got one on there that was made by a hose shop. Seems as if you're going to have to get the old ones off and go from there. |
To add, to sleuth stuff like this out, when I don't have a serial number.
I look at the beginning serial number range and the very last ones. It's not a definitive deal where obviously anything can change. But more than likely if the beginning range has the same parts and the end does, there probably wasn't a change through the ranges. But verify. Just did that here for the 500EFI and they are the same numbers you have. |

Getting some made is your best bet. I had to have one of the oil hoses to the cooler made, as they don't make it anymore.

I actually did look at all of the serial number ranges and they all had the same hoses. I probably will have to just pull the old one off and hope the new one fits or have one made if it doesn't. Thanks!
