Ferrea valves

Gen V 489 big block, normally aspirated 600hp.
I am planning on using Ferrea Super Alloy P/N F2120P for my exhaust valves...OK?
What stainless steel is recommended for intake?
Thanks!

Super Alloy definitely will be ok for exhaust valves

Thanks! I am also trying to get the RIGHT part # to order (both inconel exhaust and ss intake)?

Tom,

Your machinist really needs to verify the specs for the valves. Are they stock sized or did the original builder make changes (length, stem thickness, head diameter)?

The information may be in your build sheets, but I’d verify what’s needed with your builder.

If buying from mfg and you are a Vet. they give a healthy discount. FYI

Paperwork shows 2.25 and 1.88 intake and exhaust valves, respectively. Probably stock-sized but have your guy verify the lengths and stems.

Super Alloy is the Ferrea Inconel material. It's a great choice for a marine application.

Tom, another consideration is availability. You may find that you'll need to hunt down what you need. If I recall correctly, your machinist likes to use REV (perfectly fine). You might want to have him looking for suitable candidates.

Tom,
Why are you looking for valves?
Gary
(PS I know you are a Vet I put that in for other readers info.)
