Mercury 450R Oil Leak

I'm new to the forum. Does anyone have experience with the Mercury 450R having engine oil leaking from the poppet value?

Some good Int on the 450Rs. Prop shaft has issues from cavitation. Seems they get mounted high for speed, but suffer from prop cav....and eventually the shaft breaks.

Post# 40 starts the poppet valve info. The retainer clips break..and the guts pop out.

That may be your issue.

They were $900 ea in 2021.

Thank you for the info. My issue isn't the poppet value itself, but how engine oil is getting into the water cooling system.
