If I use my GM 7/16 rods, I'll of course end up with the 6.135 rods.

If I go aftermarket rod, I'll go 6.385" for sure. Better rod ratio and lighter piston options etc.

Going to a 4.250" stroke in the future...the 6.385" rod is a better option as well, though would not be keen on replacing the pistons etc. So in that respect, getting new cores and starting fresh would be a more cost effective option.

I'm looking at the machining costs to get the ARP bolts in, and big ends resized. Starts adding up quick. I can do all the cleanup on them, deburring etc. So savings there. But at the end of the day...I'm pulling rods from pistons for the 365 Mags that people could use as well.

I'm also keen on having a shortblock as a spare...ready to go.

If you or anyone else are interested (I'll give you first dibbs Tart) I have 2 sets of 4340 Eagle H-beam 6.385" rods with the good ARP rod bolts that I bought new when Dave Wesseldyk built my mild 565cid engines back in 2005 with only 220 hours on them for $195/per set of 8
