What’s the best way to hook up a test tank? I have a 2 gallon tank that I was thinking about just pulling the line and sticking that in there in I’m wondering if that’s just not really safe.

So I didn’t have time to hook it up to a test tank however, I just got a message from the person I bought the fuel pressure regulator and they told me they sent me the wrong one that it’s 29 pounds smh what is everyone’s thoughts on an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator? The mercury one is crazy expensive

Fuel line stuck in a can is fine if out in the open. Secure it good so it doesn't bounce around much and don't have it full so it has room to slosh around

Nothing wrong with aftermarket Regs if they have correct pressure. Rges are pretty simple things

So I replaced both the fuel lines from the fuel water separator I change the fuel water separator I checked the pressure in the rail. I put a new fuel pressure regulator on. I removed and cleaned the fuel cool system there was really no dirt debris in there I put a new fuel pump on. I put everything back, including new O-rings And I get 30 pounds of pressure constant at idle and I get about 40 pounds with key on. I’m at a loss I don’t know what to do anymore. Please help !!

I’m about ready to sell the boat and forget about it it’s such a simple system but I can’t figure out where and why it’s not getting the full fuel pressure it needs

Did You ever use a remote can ? Without antisiphon too ?
You ever try another gauge ?

Bravo454 10-22-2023 04:31 PM

No, I’ll try to remote can without anti-siphon.

I pulled the fuel lines and they were folding over so I had a new fuel lines made, and I thought that would make all the difference in the world, but it didn’t make any difference.

key on goes to 38 to 40 and then it drops down to 30 at idle.

I didn’t remove the vacuum or pinch the return line to see if the fuel pressure would increase it could be the gauge also I bought another gauge and I’ll try that. I’m just so frustrated.

I did everything on this boat from rebuilding the outdrive to rebuilding the complete motor yet I can’t seem to get the fuel pressure set 🤦‍♂️

I was half tempted to replace the whole fuel cool system and put a regulator pump filter all on the firewall, but I don’t want to dump any more money into the boat

Fixed!!

I swapped the fuel pump and changed the o-rings added new fuel lines including return and key on it’s 43lbs running at idle it’s 37/38lbs. I assume it was a bad new pump and wrong size o-rings as the new ones from mercury were smaller. Thanks for all the help
