Always a good idea.

Possibly but not from the headers though. Snap I seriously was dumb founded last fall also. Sounds like we got about the same. Was my first year to drain and winterize the boat with current exh etc. Take your leave blower and give it a couple of burps in each pipe. 😂

Just another thought but did you blow through the drain at all just to confirm no blockage. I have to do that on occasion on my water (block) drain hoses that I have coupled up at the t-stat when I drain.

Tom I get the siphon effect to a degree but with the slight leakage potentially at the impeller…. I’d think it would take a lot to pull that water up like roughly a foot with air in the hoses etc. Anyway I was just as confused and will actually video when I drain mine this week. Assuming it’ll be close to the same as last year (very little)

Ok - I’m headed up to the shop and pulling my (water) hoses to see what I get. Lol

I videod but can’t upload however I got probably about 1/2 to 1 cup of water from each.

To my “not” surprise I went to drain the blocks and not one drained (nothing). I couldn’t even blow through 3/8 hose to release any block boogers. It took a fair amount of air pressure on all four. It’s kind of a mucky area where I beach my boat (marina janks hate me). Regardless you’d think after running for a good hour in good fresh water before pulling the boat it would clean out the.blocks for most part. Not at all and water was nasty and will flush more before filling with rv antifreeze.

I really think more guys should drain their blocks from time to time and one of the benefits of having a quick drain system in place. I’ve seen this several times. Very inexpensive to do! Not sure how all the crud gets past the strainers but does. Looked like chitty oil draining out once cleared.

I think all four of my headers failed on a four pull home.....:lolhit:......I think there is a low pressure area in the water system causing this, drain holes are clear and unobstructed and like I said before the strainers are full so that tells me the block is still full, and why isn't water coming out the drive pickup > because the strainer is lower than the drive hose fitting in the transom assembly.

Everybody funny, now you funny too. Guess I missed the part where all four headers were down on water. :grinser010:

That happens! 🍻. I wasn’t even being a smart ass just drunk perhaps when referring to snap rather than f2. Gotta be Covid right 😂. I blame it on all the dumb chit I do.
