# end to end turns
Would 4-1/2 turns (lock to lock) be right for hydl. steering?
|
Mighth work, but i prefer less revolutions. Mine is 3.5 revs. If your boat is handfull to drive at higher speeds, the 4.5 may be too much.
|
air in system after replacing broken hydl. line from pump to helm ....added hydl. oil in pump as my daughter turned steering wheel
countless turns from left to right before any locking.......best lock to lock was 4-1/2 turns.....Imco dual drive hydl. steer...can't remember what is was before. |
.....

It depends on which rams and what size helm pump

Mine is 8 turns so you`re fine.
|
mine is about 4 turns lock to lock so sounds about right. ram size probably makes a difference.
|
Latham rams and a Eaton helm on mine - about 4 turns lock to lock. Maybe 4.25. It gives a lot of fine control. I think you're fine.

Mine was 2 1/2 turns lock to lock. Worked well on my boat.
