Guys who shrink wrap there boats question

Curious if you guys put anything in your boats to fight moisture and mildew before wrapping it? I was thinking those damp rid bags but they only last 60 days and once it gets cold out they will just freeze anyway. I also thought about baking soda boxes like you put in a fridge but wanted to see if anyone had a better idea?

I can remember my mom putting like a 5 gallon bucket of charcoal in the boat.... in the way back when. I dont remember what for though... it was a cruiser.

If you have access to an electrical outlet when your boat is in layup, use one of these inside. Work great for keeping things dry,

Interesting never saw those before. I thought about a small dehumidifier and run the drain hose out the bilge but come wither it will freeze, crack and become junk.

this

They work great. Keep the air above dew point and no need to drain. Very little electric draw.

I have 2 west marine versions for sale, if interested.

I've run one year round. Never a problem, just plug in and forget.

I use the large round one in my 35' Cig cabin .........always dry & eats all the moisture.

Thank you for the info. Pretty much live in a rainforest on Vancouver Island...so humidity is a massive issue. These look like the perfect solution. The 1000 version draw 130 watts. Around 7.5 hrs for a KW/h. For me, just about $0.25/day. Not bad at all.

I also just use the one big one in my 35. In an enclosed space they do dry and warm pretty effectively. Two would be overkill in a 26 IMHO.
