575 Blower Rebuilds

Hi, I get conflicting info on my factory 256 blowers ('02 Fastech 382). Motors have been fully rebuilt 80 hours ago but I don't have any evidence the blowers were redone. Hull has 480 hrs. Some say just keep running the blowers. I'm inclined to pull them and have preventatively rebuilt. Should I and who are some good reputable shops for the rebuilds? I'm in St. Louis in case anything local. TIA!

I had a set for 12 years, all I did was pull them off every other year and
change the oil in them.

I had one leak at the front seal, that was the only problem I had with them

Thanks. Easy to pull? I bought a flexible funnel and cracked the front case to drain this past year. Worked ok, but hard to control where all the gear lube went. I suppose if I pull, I can spin them and listen up close whether any whining/growling. And from there either change oil or ship off for rebuilds.

I agree with DMPE. Have them teflon stripped while they are there and you should pick up about a pound of boost.

You need to unplug the connector to the map sensor, both TBI units, IAC
motor connector, pull out the PCV valve from the intake, disconnect the
throttle cable, fuel line, remove the supercharger belt, then the nuts on each side of the supercharger, then lift it off.

Take the fill plug/ dipstick out of the front, tip it over and let it drain out, they don’t hold much.

If yours are 02’s they should be wiands and will have an Allen plug in the rear,
remove it and tip it up on end and let it drain, it also doesn’t hold much.

they are not hard to rebuild just make sure you use sk bearings not the cheaper chinessee ones!
