You’ll get it worked out as long as you use a reputable shop in your location. Good luck and keep us posted.
the engine block was a Merlin III World and not a GM bloc .. so it realy a 540 ?

in this time the engine is at my engine builder .. y change the valve seal . And y look what cam and spring y have . After this y go to dyno and give you somme news .

I like your style. Concerns about the engine, no problem, lets just pull it and put it on the dyno. If more people took your approach, they would save hours, days, even months of troubleshooting.

I’m assuming it’s a std 9.8” block. Merlin does indicate it’s an aftermarket block. Your bore and crank size will confirm your CI. How long before your engine builder gets it in the dyno? Snap was right - do we dive into all the bs and start investing or strap it on a dyno and see what she’s got!!! Cut to the chase! 😂

im not realy good in english ahaha … my engine builder it a old guys and y work whit y look at all whit them . It winter so i have about 3-4month too check all the engine ahah . But i just look at the spring and cam … after this go on the dyno to see real HP and the rpm range . After this y can have a good start .

this boat was in my area depuis 2006 . A talk to a few guys we have it … one off this say me we turn at 5800rpm whit the same engine .. same blade and it 80mph … the guys we add boat bettewen me and other guys rebuilt the engine …. If it change something in the engine and kill the rpm ..? This is why y go on the dyno

29 Fountain, running 28p B1 at 5K hitting 78 MPH. 5800 RPM with a 28 B1 should be much faster than 80.
