Problem, My shift lever stuck in drive at the dock, did not want to come back to neutral. Turned engine off. It's stuck in forward gear..Not sure what the problem is, didn't want to force it.
If I put some more muscle into it, might go back to neutral, but what I might break in the process. Cable? clutch? The lever moves a little, but won't disengage from forward.
How do I put it back to neutral without any damage. I might have put it into gear at a ted higher RPM then normal. THX/ P

Bravo is designed to shift only when drive shaft is rotating. I would think something happened with the clutch. I would pull the drive

Not a good choice. ITS. Drive was rotating when shifted in gear and tried to shift back to neutral.

Got it back in neutral, little W D 40 on the cables by the headers, it's all good. THX

I’m surprised the issue was a poorly lubricated cable unless things are very old and rusty, but I’m not a drive expert.

Might be worth pulling out the top plug at least to see if there are any gear chunks on it….

Actually it was not the cable. Cables are lubricated often, no rust. The shifting bars on the side of the headers are plastic. That's where it was binding a bit. Heat dries out the plastic part, expends, dries, needed a little lube. It went back to neutral easily, once I jiggled the mechanism at the support plates. FYI
