Mercruiser 496 HO start electrical issue on and off

Hi all,

I have a Donzi 22 classic with a 496 HO.
I was experiencing problem a battery power drop since a while and some difficulties to start the engine on and off. Only thing connected to the battery is two bilge pump.
We have change the starter, the alternator and the battery last friday and I put the boat in the water 24 hours later.
1st attempt: no start
2nd: engine started. went for 20 min trip, switch off.
Tried to start the engine 2 hours later...nothing for a few times and then finally it started. drove the boat back to the port.
Went back to the port and boat on trailor to rince and run with fresh water...nothing.
I had to turn the key and keep it for 5 second to have a rotation and finally it started.
Do you have an idea of what could be the problem?

1) Check the neutral safety switch in the shifter assembly.
2) Check all of your grounds between the battery switch and engine block.
3) Check all of your fuse connections under the dash or where ever your fuse block is.

Look for loose and/or corroded connections.
