I wouldn't use that stock exhaust if it were given to me free. Took one of my engines out on my last boat. Horrible design. Even more so if it had a spacer like you run double the failure risk. Stainless Marine for the win.

How old were your manifolds and risers that failed?

There’s a set of stainless marine, manifolds and tails in the swap shop for $1500.00.

Cool boat I dig the pilot house, soo much better than my little square of sunshade I had.

My parasail boat was a direct drive Yanmar 300 in an Ocean Pro 31 which is the old 31 Rybo Runner without the big single step, topped out at about 20 mph.

After 20 years out in the relentless sun I was literally Burned out. I was going to build a a/c pilot house in the same position as yours and than a small bunk in the v berth area a/c also.

Burned out the last summer and sold the business.

if I had to do it again I definitely would do the pilot house and a direct drive 5.3 LS motor and forget the Yanmar diesel and the stupid cost of all the stupid parts .

Super efficient motor and makes some pretty good torque , probably burn half the fuel as that big block.

I have one in a Chevy explorer hi-Top
conversion van and it moved that tank and 8000 pounds behind it no problem through the hills coming down to Florida. Pulled like 10 mpg loaded where my old 350s would be down in the 6-7 range.

The van pulls 19 unloaded. Very impressed by that little LS motor.

I think what everyones missing here is the OP has a salt water boat and if stock manifolds and risers are in bad enough shape after 4 seasons to warrant replacing them, alumnum stainless marine manifolds will be like sugar cubes dissolving in a cup of coffee in no time from the high hours he uses it, at least IMO, Smitty
