Mercruiser outdrive stainless hardware- what grade of stainless?
 

I am looking at ordering new nuts and washers for 4 bravo outdrives that I am refinishing and want to buy them in bulk. Does anyone know what grade of stainless mercruiser uses. I may be overthinking this...

Ayuh,.... If yer talking about the nuts to hold the drives to the gimbel housing, their not ssteel, but are chrome plated brass,.....

Yea, that makes sense. I have a bunch like that, I feel like I have had stainless nuts also. Not sure anymore, I have taken apart so many boats at this point. The nuts to hold the lowers onto the upper are stainless right? And the washers to hold the drive to the gimbal? Thanks

My guess is 304.
