Size difference btw 496 MAG and HO

Hello,
I am contemplating putting a bravo x and 496 MAG HO into my boat. Need to know if the size is different. STBD side the starter is very close to a stringer, port side is pretty clear. Engine just clears the deck, and air filter just clears. Here are some pictures.

thanks, any idea if the outdrive line up is very similar. I cannot shift the engine down at all for example. What about cut out for outdrive, will I need fiberglass work or is existing opening dimensions okay?

Tons of questions now.

Assuming that the HO delivers a bit more torque at ~3500-3600 cruise RPM would the fuel consumption be similar if not better? Maybe with the extra 50hp/more torque I can cruise at 3200-3400 instead?

I have a single engine setup, in a 30ft 11ft beam, 15 deg deadrise pilothouse (Penn Yan 305 Rampage). We tuna fish and it’s 11k boat with crew/ice/gear and I’m wondering if this may be a way to basically pick up 2 knots or so cruise speed and pretty much the same fuel consumption? Current numbers in good seas are 0.7mpg ish. Am I off here, educate me please…

The 496HO and the 496 Mag are externally IDENTICAL. Cam, programing, and a few different component changes over the years, are the only differences.

Same engines with different cam and pcm. IMO, not worth the $$ unless you need to replace a failed engine or drive. You will probably loose cruise speed going a Bravo X on your boat

Why is that, the drive ratio?

Are you going to put the B3 lower on it?….if not, that is why you’re going to loose speed in your application.
