when one of my boating neighbors was having issues with one of his 496 engines i called mosetti looking for advice[i never worked on a 496 before].john told me what to look for and he was right on,i sent him the injectors for check&clean,after he recieved them he said i had one bad one so he cleaned seven and replaced one,that was a long time ago so i don,t remember the cost but it was very fair.i also met him at the pri show and we talked for a while,im sorry to hear about some people disliking him,all i can say is my experiance with him was good.if my experiance with him was bad id have no problem talking about that.

He knows 496`s very well. No doubt about that.

Smitty turned mine around within a week the first time, as we were closing on PokerRun weekend on Cumberland. Literally one week, mailbox to mailbox. It was a bit longer the second time around, as I was in no hurry. We had just smoked a piston in our 496, and it was going to be down for the winter. I was just wanting them checked out for culpability in the failure (they were not). It was still only about two weeks, and that was just because he ran them extensively on his test bench. Steve does really good work and still seems to make time to get your stuff back to you in a timely manner.

I've never had Mosetti "lie" to me, per se. I have just noticed that it's only the things HE "knows" that are true when you're talking to him. If there's anything where his opinion differs from what others have suggested, they're just wrong, and it's because he's been "doing this" for a really long time. He's the most knowledgeable person he knows.

I do like his spark plug wires, though. They seem very well made. I just wish they were available in purple. :rolleyes:
