Baja Corsa Exhaust
Bought a minty 2004 Baja 275 Boss with Corsa exhaust and silent choice.
It has mufflers on the back which I want to remove, but keep the silent choice for the wife. Is there a kit to replace these with a straight through with flappers, or what is recommended? All you would need to do is remove the mufflers and install a set of standard 4” tips.
But you better be ready for a battle, because they used some pretty strong sealer on those mufflers and getting them to break loose is a chore |
That’s what I was afraid of.
If I was still in Sarasota, I’d just drop it off at Innovation. They always took great care of the Donzi. Man I miss those guys. Moved to Wisconsin, not sure who to trust up here. |
Would it be better to just replace the exhaust hose with new and add the tips?
Maybe easier??? It’s a Baja, not a fire breathing cat, but I do want to hear it on these Wisconsin puddle lakes. |

Won't really be any easier. You still have get the hose off the muffler tips. Getting the mufflers off will the most difficult. Not sure what Baja used to seal them, but there is product called Debond that will help with the adhesive sealant.

To the OP. As said, loosen the hose clamps on the exhaust tubing, remove 3 (IIRC 7/16") nuts on each tip and wiggle and pull them out the back. Then re assembly new 4" tips |
Had it all done in an hour, no issues and didn't lose a single nut/washer in the bilge!
The Corsa's wiggled right out, in with the new. Sounds healthy now! Thanks. |
