Advice for helm pump sizing

I’m in the process of installing trip 350 verado’s on Donzi 35zf. Replacing
gen1 pump with gen C. Two cylinders. Current helm 40 cc. Merc recommends
50 cc and larger. Should I use a 50 or 63 for this project?
Thanks
Pat

Doesn’t Mercury power steering suck?

I thought it should be avoided.

It would be very helpful if the you can avoid a type C failure.

That said...how much do you want to turn the helm? With the obvious Type C issues...I would go with the smaller CCs..it would be easier to turn when your power steering fails when you need it the most.

Trust me, I have no love for Merc power steering pumps. My initial thought was to use a dodge charger pump, I still may.
The issue I have is not getting error messages because the can buss doesn’t recognize the dodge pump, different coding. Maybe I’m wrong about that or maybe there’s a work around.
