The worst part of it is not being able to pre-fill the oil filter before firing it up on an oil change.

Adding a larger can double the size...will mean double the time to fill and get oil to the bearings and lifters etc.

Just plug in your part number into a cross reference. Determine what the specs are. Thread size, anti-drainback etc.

I don't pay particular attention to height of a filter. I pay attention to the micron rating. This filter has a micron rating of 25, or .001". Sierra 18-7824, which is a small can also has a micron rating of 20, or .0008" and that's what I run. The wix mentioned above also has a micron rating of 20.
