496 ho Rattling Sound
 

Hello,

496 ho. I have this rattling sound on startup. After a few minutes it gets much quieter at idle but at 1000rpm the sound is still there. This is the best I can do for video.

most rattling noises i here on boats is exhaust shutters and those damn corsa tailpipes that’s baffles had welds break. Sometimes seear motor hss a rap. :(

I’d check the exhaust baffles also. Had one making a noise that sounded like a knock at idle. Look in the tail pipes and see if there’s a broken flapper

nothing to worry about,its the diverter valve in the exhaust rattling.

I had a weird noise below 1000 rpm on one of my motors - was a bad idler pulley squawking

Just replaced mine. It was chirping. like a bird.
