IMCO Extension on small ModVP / Tunnel?

Hey guys,

Thinking about doing something with the IMCO extension box I have collecting dust. Does anyone know if smaller tunnels like these boxes? Specifically a warlock 22' sport tunnel, similar to an eliminator 234 edge. Currently running low 80s with a standard bravo 1 but the drive seems deep. Not 100% comparable but it seems those who put the box on a 25' SXT have had good results

Would be putting on the 12" neutral box with an IMCO SC and -2 shorty to start. My 21-22' scarabs have loved extension boxes, not sure about ModVPs

It will most likely be a trial and error thing, hoping that someone has a definite "DONT!!" to stop me before I eat up a couple months of weekends :D

It helped my 25 ft.Daytona . But you would have to add full hyd. steering.

Glad to hear it worked on your setup. I have full hydraulic steering as well ready to go, wing plates and the steering cap and all

0nly suggestion I have is that only going up 2 inches with the standoff box will not be enough in my opinion. I would try the shorty drive first without the box that will give you a good reference point to start from .

Will be trying that for sure. Are you saying raising 2 inches isn't enough and thinking a -3 would be better? I'm not opposed to getting the angle box, either (I think that alone is ~3" lift?)

I think what he is saying is that the drive looks pretty deep now. to put a box on you go up 1" for every 12" back so if you are deep now, and many of these boats benefit with a higher drive height, then try the -2" drive to see if it improves and if so then yes you would need to go up 3" with a standard drive or 1" with the shorty and the box.

Roger that! Will be exciting to see. I'm pulling the engine right now for some new power so I'm tempted to throw the box on right away and try it out rather than have to pull it again to swap it if needed in the future. I can always do the box + STD or -1 if the box + -2 is too shallow

Got solid measurements, propshaft centerline is 7 1/2" under the pad, with the box and -2 should hopefully be at about 4 1/2", I'm sure that alone will feel much better
