Exhaust/muffler decision.... 525EFI
 

Trying to decide if I want to go with different exhaust. My previous engines suffered from reversion so had dry CMI through the transom tails. Tried clamp on mufflers, but reversion. Added tip extensions, no reversion, but still louder than I wanted. Added GGB inserts and that took the edge off. I have repowered with 525EFIs and continued to use the same exhaust. Over the winter I remembered that I still have the transom mount mufflers that came with the boat. Aqua Power LTD. I have the factory 525EFI tails. Trying to decide if I want to change the to the transom mount mufflers.

I don't think there will be any performance difference. The GGB by dimension appear more restrictive but in air only, the aqua power baffles have to deal with water. Also, water is introduced 14" earlier which would muffle the sound some as well.

If it wasn't so much work to change, I'd try it both ways and decide for myself. Appreciate any opinions!
